World’s largest men’s curling bonspiel starts in Toronto this weekend

TORONTO — During the week of January 9-16 2016, 252 teams involving over 1,000 curlers from curling club facilities throughout the Greater Toronto Area will compete in the Toronto Men’s Curling Championship. This is the 121st consecutive year this championship have been held.

Sponsored by Goldline Curling, the TCA Goldline Men’s Curling Championship is open to all male recreational curlers. There are four divisions: Open (over 19 years of age), Senior (aged 50+), Masters (aged 60+) and, new this year, Grandmasters (aged 70+).

The event begins Saturday, January 9 and continues each day through the following week at 20 Toronto Curling Association (TCA) facilities across the GTA. The finals of the Masters and Grandmasters Divisions will be held at Scarboro Golf and Country Club on Friday, January 15. The finals of the Open and Senior divisions will be held at Scarboro on Saturday, January 16.

The Saturday finals will be televised on Rogers Television.
